Poetics of the Unknown

The goal of the meetings is to explore the question of the locus, our unique position in life from where we think, feel, and act.

During the meetings, we explore an author’s words and discuss together how these move us. I try to select authors who challenge my Western, white, physically abled, literate, and privileged woman’s assumptions on the categories that I use to apprehend the world.

Some of the questions that motivate this project are: where is the boundary between sanity and insanity? Female and male? Woman and man? Heterosexual and homosexual? Me and them? Immigrant and nonmigrant? Inner life and outer life? What are the hardships and riches in these polarities? And most importantly, how can we articulate them to value our singularities instead of being anxious and insecure about what they tell of our belongings?

The meetings are informal gatherings once per month on average:
